Congratulations to Roberto “Robbie” Gonzalez from our CV Surf 01/00 Boys team shown here during his recent college signing ceremony at Weston Ranch High School.
Robbie has accepted an offer to play for the Ottawa University Arizona Men’s Soccer team and will receive academic and athletic scholarships that will allow him play soccer at the next level all while pursuing a college degree.
Robbie will join join the Wolf Pack this coming summer soon after his High School graduation.
Robbie who has also been a stand out soccer player and team captain at Weston Ranch High School, has played competitive soccer with CV Surf his entire youth career and is completing his final year of youth soccer in our club under Coach David Stockton. During his time with CV Surf he spent over 5 years in the Norcal PDP teams being part of the State Team until last year when he aged out of the program.
Back in 2013 Robbie was part of our CV Surf 1999 team that proudly represented our Club at Nationals in Colorado. At this same event, his older brother’s CV Surf 97/98 team coached by their father and Club Founder and President Benjamin Gonzalez won a National Championship in the U15 boys division. This was the first and is the only National Championship ever won by a boys team in our region’s history.
Our entire CV Surf Soccer Club and family is very proud of Robbie and we wish him all the best in the collegiate ranks. Robbie joins the ranks of many former CV Surf players that have used their talent, passion and dedication to the sport to catapult themselves to the next level while pursuing a higher education. For many years CV Surf has focused on developing top level players over winning trophies. This strategy has certainly paid off big time with many of our players moving on to play in college with most of them receiving scholarships to help finance their education. Several CV Surf Alumni are also currently playing for international professional clubs.
If your son or daughter is interested in playing soccer for one of the top programs in the State please contact us send us a message on Facebook or email us for more information. You can also visit our web site at www.cvsurf.org
Check out our “Alumni” page to view many of the CV Surf Alumni that have moved on to play at the soccer at next level.
